Upon startup of ChronScribe™, the access level defaults to User. To change or edit the access levels, a menu selection is provided:
Change
To change the Access Level:
Select Change from, the Main Form Tools->User Levels menu list.
The dialog below is shown to:
Select the desired level (Admin, Developer, Engineer, Maintenance, or User).
Enter the required password for the level
Userlevel does NOT require a password to enter.
Select a time time limit (in minutes), OR "None"
Userlevel does NOT have a time limit.
Selecting "None" will maintain the same level until changed again or until restart.
Press "Accept" to change the level, OR "Cancel" to cancel the change dialog.
After a level change is accepted, the status indicator on the bottom of the Main Form will change to indicate the access level and time remaining (if a time limit was provided).
Edit
The Admin access level is able to edit any access level passwords at run time.
Remember the passwords AND protect the installation media. If the passwords are forgotten, ChronScribe™ may be re-installed to reset the passwords.
Editing the Access Level allows a user the ability to edit an access level password, including the Adminpassword, at run time.
To edit the Access Level password:
Select Edit from, the Main Form Tools->User Levels menu list.
The password modify dialog appears to:
Select the desired level to edit its password.
Enter the selected level's current password.
Enter the desired password for the selected level.
Confirm the desired password for the selected level.
Press "Accept" to proceed, or "Cancel" to exit.
If the current access level is Admin, any password may be changed without entering the Current Password.
